Can anyone tell me what scale the following notes fall within?
Ab Bb C D E F#
That looks to be a whole tone scale since the interval between each tone is a whole step. Whole tone scales are interesting because there are only 6 notes and only two possible scales or keys:
Here's the scale you posted:
notes A@-B@/4 C-D-E-F#/5
Here's the other possible whole tone scale:
notes A-B/4 C#-D#-F-G/5
Whole tone scales are mostly used in jazz and other types of improvisation. Hope that helps!
