Modes vs Major scales

I want to find out if the same formula that applies to how Major scales (wwhwwwh) is generated also applies to modes too.

It does not. How other scales are constructed are what defines the sound they make. Check this site out for a better explanation. http://chrisjuergensen.com/scaleformula.htm

The Major Scale (aka ) the 'Ionian Mode, can be applied to any Note ! (i.e. ) 'C# Ionian,or 'Bb Ionian, etc... Modes can be viewed and applied to either 'Series or, 'Parallel.
