Time signature

I have problems in knowing the time signature in a musical scale or even in music generally..?

I have problems with minor scales and how to to construct them...?

  1. Use the key signature of its relative major (e.g. e minor, use G major key signature).
  2. Write the notes of the scale.
  3. For harmonic minor, raise the 7th note.
  4. For melodic minor, raise the 6th and 7th notes ascending, and lower these notes in the descending form.

Scales can be written without a time signature, or can be written in any time signature that would fit the duration of the notes.

Time signature can seem kinda confusing but its pretty easy once you figure it out.The top number is number of beats in a measure and the bottom number is what kind of notes.So in 4/4 time there is 4 quarter notes in a measure.Hope this helps
