hi i hope i am asking this right. does the diatonic scale which is major scale correspond to the minor scale? if the major diatonic scale is major and the scale degrees are 1 major, 2 minor, 3 minor, 4 major, 5 major, 6 minor, 7 diminished. does this pattern apply to the minor or any of the other scales for that matter. thank you for your time.
This pattern only applies to major scales. However, knowing this it's very easy to figure the minor pattern since a minor key will start on the sixth degree of it's relative major scale. So, in the major pattern you wrote out if you treat the 6th scale degree as the 1st degree in minor that will give you the minor diatonic order.
